I finally picked up a vintage scooter. Its a 150 sprint, silver with a black seat. It was in decent condition. The front fender/cowl is dented pretty good and so is the legshield- but not too serious. The motor did fire but doesn't run. Has dents and dings as usual and some backwoods engineering. I bought it off a guy way out in the country hence the barn find. Sorry no pics. Right now i have stripped the paint off and am dong some body work. Its completely down to a bare frame and the engine is out. I built an engine stand and am going to need new pistons and maybe a jug from what i saw after some minor dismantling.
Want to say thanks to all of you for your advice and stories, especially Valimagdon. i have learned more reading the posts than i did reading all the textbooks i can find. Will posts pics soon as i figure out how. And yes, no title!

Congrats! I like my Sprint. Not as curvy as a VBB or GS, not as desired as a Rally, but still a solid vintage scoot. In fact, at Slaughterhouse last year, there were a dozen beautiful Rallys, and maybe one or two Sprints, including mine. If it's a 68, then it's a slower 2-port engine; you gonna cut a third port while you're in there? Otherwise, I've heard good things about the 2port Pinasco kit.

Yeah i have been looking into that. I did see the upgrade kit for the two ports from Pinasco, just haven't decided which route to take. I also like the Sprint as u said. I think the trapezoid headlight sets it apart from the others. Hopefully this will be my go-to scooter and later i will acquire the more "desirable" ones that i can put in the garage and admire.

I'd like to see some pictures.
No scooter should be kept in a garage and only looked at. They should be riden!

Finally some pics, cant find the pics of when i brought it home. I have 90% of the paint off just need to finish sandblasting the underside and where the gas tank sits into.
I initially used a regular 8inch electric grinder with a blue fiber pad i got from Home Depot. The pad costs $10 a piece but i had the major stuff gone in less than an hour. It takes the paint off but then "buffs" the metal when all the paint is gone, it wont scratch or harm the surface. They are amazingly quick, but cant do the small areas. I will never use sandpaper again to strip paint off.

| Here is it in the table stage, Where after it sits too long it becomes a table. You can even see the rust marks of where beverage cans were sitting. |

The engine is not too bad. Needs to be freshened up. It fired when it was still in the bike. There is a small score in the cylinder but i think it can be bored out enough to clear it. Engine seems like the easy part of the fix.....and choosing a color to paint it when its done. I'm thinking metallic brown/copper or metallic white.
